About this Event

A re-issue of Chloe Caldwell's cult-classic novella, Women, that intimately explores one young writer’s whirlwind and whiplash affair as she falls deeply in love with a woman for the first time. Caldwell is in conversation with Lilly Dancyger, whose poignant essay collection First Love treats women’s friendships as the love stories they truly are.

Chloe Caldwell is the author of The Red Zone, the essay collection I'll Tell You in Person, Legs Get Led Astray, and the forthcoming Trying. Chloe’s essays have appeared in the New York Times, Bon Appétit, New York Magazine’s The Cut and The Strategist, Buzzfeed, Longreads, Vice, Nylon, and many more, as well as half a dozen anthologies including Goodbye To All That: Writers on Loving and Leaving NYC and Without A Net: The Female Experience of Growing Up Working Class, and Sluts. Her essay “Hungry Ghost” was listed as Notable in 2018 Best American Nonrequired Reading. She lives in Hudson, New York.

Lilly Dancyger is the author of the memoir Negative Space, selected by Carmen Maria Machado as a winner of the Santa Fe Writers Project Literary Awards, and the editor of Burn It Down, a critically acclaimed anthology of essays on women's anger. Dancyger's writing has been published by Guernica, Literary Hub, The Rumpus, Longreads, The Washington Post, Playboy, Rolling Stone, and more. She lives in New York City and teaches creative nonfiction at Columbia University School of the Arts.
