About Brokers Gallery

Brokers Gallery (BBAGB) is a nonprofit, community-centered arts organization dedicated to supporting emerging and established artists through exhibitions, performances, educational programs, and cultural events. Rooted in San Diego’s creative ecosystem, the gallery serves as a platform for critically engaged, socially conscious, and experimental work that reflects the diversity and vitality of our region.
Founded by artists and advocates committed to sustaining independent creative spaces, BBAGB was formally incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in response to increasing redevelopment pressures and the displacement of artist communities. This transition ensured the long-term preservation of our mission beyond any single physical location, allowing us to continue serving artists and audiences with integrity, resilience, and purpose.

Our programming spans visual arts, music, film, literature, and interdisciplinary practices, fostering meaningful dialogue and collaboration across disciplines. Through exhibitions, workshops, open mics, screenings, concerts and community gatherings, we aim to create accessible entry points for participation while maintaining high artistic and curatorial standards.

At the heart of BBAGB is a commitment to equity, mentorship, and creative autonomy. We prioritize opportunities for underrepresented voices, youth, and grassroots practitioners, and we work closely with local partners to strengthen cultural infrastructure at the neighborhood level.
Today, BBAGB continues to grow as a dynamic space for experimentation, learning, and collective expression. Guided by our board, artists, volunteers, and community members, we remain dedicated to cultivating an inclusive environment where art serves as both a reflection of lived experience and a catalyst for social connection.

About Origins Tea founder:

Meet the Chief Tea Officer, ReAnn Nicholson.

Born and raised in the vibrant river city of Liuzhou, China, ReAnn grew up in a lively, multi-generational household. Though an only child, she was never truly alone — surrounded by parents, grandparents, and cousins, the house was always filled with energy and conversation. In the joyful chaos, one tradition stood out as a grounding presence: sharing tea.

When she was nine years old, ReAnn moved to the United States, bringing with her not just memories of home, but the cultural traditions that shaped her. Tea remained a meaningful bridge — a way to stay connected to her heritage and her family across the globe.

Everyone has an origin story. For ReAnn, Origins Tea is a tribute to those roots — a celebration of culture, family, and the stories that make us who we are.

“Tea is a tool of connection,” says ReAnn. “Origins Tea is about bringing people together — honoring tradition while creating space for new cultural connections.”
