Join us at on Monday the 9th of December at 9.30am for our very first conference!
Taking place during 16 Days of Activism, this free to attend event will include inspiring discussions and interactive workshops that celebrate survivor voice and amplify the amazing work of organisations across Scotland. This conference will explore the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of embedding lived experience of domestic abuse and trauma across systems and services, drawing on lessons learned at a local and national level. This event has been organised and led by the SafeLives Authentic Voice Panel, a group of 10 women with lived experience of domestic abuse. The Panel represents the breadth of experience and diversity of Scottish survivors, and they bring insight spanning topics such as service access, mental health, rurality, children and the justice system. They work together to embed authentic voice across systems to improve outcomes for all survivors of domestic abuse and trauma. For more information, please visit our website
Who are we?
Authentic Voice: Embedding Lived Experience in Scotland is a partnership project from , the , and , working together with survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) and other forms of complex trauma. The project aims to help local authorities and organisations develop safe, meaningful and trauma-informed processes that ensure survivors’ voices influence and shape services, systems and pathways of support in local communities across Scotland.

About the Event
Due to the limited numbers of tickets for this conference, tickets requests will be reviewed by application to allow for a wide range of professionals to attend the event. Unfortunately we will be unable to accommodate large groups of attendees from the same organisation/service so please ensure you review your attendance with colleagues before booking. If you cannot attend for the full day, please do not apply for a space.
