š¤ How many times have you gone out and just hung out with your friends because you felt awkward talking to other people?Itās not your fault. Most social events are either chaotic (too loud music, no one talks to new people) or too formal (boring speeches, forced networking).
So letās try something different.
š Thursday, January 22nd we invite you to an evening of authentic socializing.
š” How does this come about?
In order to have real conversations, without tension or superficiality, we follow a few simple principles of authentic communication.
Authentic communication means talking about yourself, really listening, and creating a space where everyone can be themselves, without fear of judgment.
Rules of the game:
ā We talk about our experiences, not about what others āshouldā do.
ā We listen without interrupting or judging.
ā We donāt give advice. We come here to understand others, not to change them.
ā What is discussed at the Gathering, stays at the Gathering.
⨠Itās not a workshop, itās not group therapy, itās not something ultra-serious.
Itās just a place where you can have conversations that are really worth your time.
š¹ How does the evening go?
š¬ We sit in groups of 4 people and receive an open-ended question, designed to lead directly to an interesting conversation.
š¤ Everyone has 3 minutes to answer, without being interrupted, to make sure that no one monopolizes the discussion. If you want to talk, you have space. If you just want to listen, thatās perfectly fine.
š After each round, we change groups and move on to a new question. This way you have the opportunity to meet more people and explore different perspectives.
š You donāt have to be the most charismatic person in the room, you donāt have to impress anyone. Just show up and enjoy interesting conversations.
š Everything is just an invitation. No one forces you to speak if you donāt want to, to answer awkward questions, or to force yourself to socialize more than comes naturally to you.
You can just listen, take a break when you need to, and participate at your own pace.
š„ Who comes to Adunat?
There is no age limit and no specific ātypeā of people who come. At our events you can find extroverts, introverts, people of all ages with diverse professions and interests.
Thatās why we love doing this so much. We bring together people who might never have met in any other setting. Here they have the opportunity to really listen to their stories.
