The Discipline of Authentic Movement as a Political Way of Witnessing Lifewith Soraya Jorge
The workshop will touch principles of the Discipline of Authentic Movement and also some elements developed in Brasil.
Authentic Movement (A.M.) is a somatic relational approach for the development of consciousness; a contemporary ritual, able to touch and make explicit the interconnective forces between bodies.
A.M. is beyond a bodily investigation; it is a way of living, seeing and communicating: finding the vital movements and words for the sensory experience.
This workshop focuses on witnessing as the core practice of A.M. We will explore contemplating our patterns, entering and moving them in a safe container of seeing and being seen to create a state of “somafulness”.
Committing to consciousness and expanding it to a collective sharing with embodied words is a political act.
*Open to new participants and as a continuation for those who experienced the first workshop from Soraya Jorge in Berlin.
Soraya Jorge will teach from Brasil. Participants can come to the Somatic Academy's studio or take part online from home.

About Soraya Jorge:
Artist, Somatic Movement Specialist;
Introducer of the Discipline of Authentic Movement in Brazil. PhD student in Dance at FMH in Lisbon. And teacher at the Angel Vianna Dance College in Rio de Janeiro-Brazil. Co-creator of CIMA, the International Center for the Authentic Movement in Brazil, and of its Formative Process.
And she is part of ‘The Discipline of Authentic Movement Faculty” by Janet Adler.
