AustrianStartups Stammtisch #99: Spin-Offs

Over past two decades, the field of academic entrepreneurship has found greater visibility, and universities are being increasingly considered as a source for creation of high-technology firms. With greater attention focused on the linkage between science, technology, and university spinoffs, universities are moving from their traditional roles of research, teaching, and knowledge dissemination to a more advanced role of creating spinoffs and promoting academic entrepreneurship.

Join us for another amazing talk on how Spin-Offs are facing the challenges of tomorrow.

This event is made possible by – Entrepreneurship Center Network

The ECN was launched in 2012 on the initiative of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at WU Vienna with the mission to promote awareness and cross-university networking on the topic of entrepreneurship. Six Viennese universities (Academy of Fine Arts, Medical University of Vienna, Vienna University of Technology, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna, University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, Vienna University of Economics and Business) joined the ECN with the aim to contribute to a sustainable increase of interdisciplinary start-ups out of the university. The ECN's flagship program, Entrepreneurship Avenue, has become one of the largest entrepreneurship event series for students and has been organized annually together with SIMConnect since 2014. After a reorientation of the ECN in 2020, the focus is on Austria-wide cross-university networking. The participating partners, universities of applied sciences and universities, regularly exchange information on entrepreneurship activities, learnings and experiences. Subsequently, the ECN also addresses people interested in founding a company, students, researchers, alumni as well as employees of universities. We connect across universities and offer an accessible platform to gain an overview of the university-related entrepreneurship offers and to get first information about founding. à https://ecn.ac.at/
