Learn about Australia's Digital ID approach which aims to remove the risk and harms of identity theft
About this Event

Identity crime is a significant threat in Australia and New Zealand, with a growing number of people falling victim every year. According to key findings from the Australian National Identity Crime and Misuse Measurement Framework Pilot, each year about 5% of citizens experience identity crime resulting in a financial loss. However, the true extent of identity crime is likely to be unknown, as a considerable proportion of incidents go unreported.

Australia's Digital ID approach aims to remove the risk of identity theft from the loss of government issued credentials through third party cyber-attacks. This was a byproduct from the data breaches and hacks that hit Optus, Medibank and Latitude in recent years and impacted millions of people.

The Digital ID system is built with privacy and consent in mind and extends the journey Australian citizens have been on over the past 15 years. At this ISC2 event we will take you through the journey of digital identity and share key learnings from real life implementations.
