Australian Web Awards 2022
For 17 years, the Australian Web Industry Association (AWIA) has been celebrating the amazing work that happens in digital in Australia. From humble beginnings in Western Australia to now attracting some of Australia’s most prestigious creative agencies and well-known brands, this year's awards are set to be the biggest yet.
The Australian Web Awards recognises technical excellence in across five key disciplines – content, accessibility, design, development and user experience – in 13 different categories. Judges are experts in their fields and award winners based on their excellence across the disciplines. Every category has a winner and there are awards for ‘best in show’ for each of the judging disciplines, plus an overall best entry that’s awarded the coveted McFarlane Prize.
Get ready to be inspired and impressed by the entries and winners of the Australian Web Awards in 2022. This year we’re hosting the awards gala event in Sydney’s CBD at the heritage listed Arthouse Hotel. This retro-chic venue dates back to 1836 when it served as The School of Arts – its name and history are synonymous with creativity and boundary pushing.
Join us from 6pm for drinks, canapés, entertainment and the all important award presentations. It’s your chance to expand your network, meet your peers and rub shoulders with the best of the best in digital.

The 2022 Australian Web Awards will celebrate digital projects completed between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2022. This year we have 13 categories, including 5 brand new categories:

Judging Criteria
The awards are judged by a national selection of creative and technical leaders in the web industry in the following disciplines:
- User Interface Design
- User Experience Design
- Content
- Development
- Accessibility
