About this Event
Dr Kit, the Bee Babette, is a wild bee scientist (a scientist who studies wild bees, but also a wild scientist who studies bees!). She has published over 30 articles on native bee conservation, plant-pollinator interactions, impacts of introduced species on native bees, and their lifestyles and behaviours. She is also a renowned science communicator, and was a Famelab finalist, a FringeWorld performer, has published a number of books for the general public, and was a finalist in the WA Young Achiever of the Year.
Join us for National Bee Day for a casual buzz about bees and being a bee scientist, followed by a presentation by Dr Kit on Australian native bees - who they are, what they do, and how we can protect them. We will conclude with a bee walk through the native botanic gardens to our beautiful native nursery.
You can also start your day with a buzz and join Dr Kit will for breakfast in the beautiful natural surrounds of the IndigiCafe, between 7.30 and 8.30am. To attend both the breakfast and the presentation Register here
