Polly Woodside is a tangible reminder of Australia’s rich maritime history.
Launched in 1885 in Belfast, the Polly Woodside made 17 trips around the world and operated between Australia and New Zealand. She was used as a coal ship following World War Two, and by 1968 was the last square-rigged deep-water commercial sailing ship still afloat in Australasia.
Led by an experienced guide this tour will delve into the history of Polly Woodside, from the Woodside Family to her life on the sea and her restoration by a dedicated team of volunteers. Uncover stories of the people who lived and worked aboard the iconic vessel.
After the tour, enjoy time to explore the ship and museum. The tour is recommended for ages 16 and up.
