About this Event
We love to host “compare-and-contrast” tastings, especially when they pit top Australian wines against those of our cousins across The Ditch. The Real Review specialises in Australian and New Zealand wines so it’s natural to indulge in a little “Test Match” every now and then.
Just to make sure it’s a fair fight, our new Kiwi contributor, Stephen Wong MW, will fly over to Sydney to co-host this event with principal writer and reviewer Huon Hooke.
All the key styles common to both countries will be covered, and the wines will be some of the finest of each nation. Sparkling, chardonnay, pinot noir, shiraz/syrah and cabernet sauvignon blends—and last but not least, left-field dry whites. The dinner will climax with two great cabernet blends, both of which boast 3 Merits on The Real Review’s Wine Classifications of Australia and New Zealand, scoring 99 and 98 points.
