How are you planning to spend Australia Day? 🇦🇺Start your day by attending Singleton’s official Australia Day ceremony at the Civic Centre.
Australia Day is an important event in the annual calendar where we get to recognise the people who make our community better, and to celebrate what makes Singleton the best place to live, work and visit.
Everyone is welcome to enjoy a traditional BBQ breakfast from 8am and take part in the smoking ceremony at 8.45am by Wonnarua elder and former Citizen of the Year Warren Taggart.
The official ceremony will begin at 9.30am and will include:
➡️ An address by Australia Day Guest Dr James Wilson-Miller
➡️ Addresses by 2025 Citizen of the Year Nigel Korff and Young Achiever of the Year Dr Jared Lawrence
➡️ Announcement of the 2026 Citizen of the Year and Young Achiever of the Year
➡️ Citizenship ceremony
📽️📲 The ceremony will also be livestreamed via Council’s Facebook page and website.
