✍️ Austin Poetry Slam Presents: The 2nd Sundays Writing Workshop ✍️
Join us on Sunday October 12th from 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM at the Ruiz Branch of the Austin Public Library (1600 Grove Blvd, Austin TX 78741) for an inspiring afternoon of craft, community, and creativity. This month’s workshop will be led by the brilliant Nala Washington.
This workshop is designed for poets who want to elevate their words for both performance and publication. Page & Stagedives into traditional, experimental, and challenging poetic forms to sharpen your writing for slamming, performance, and page poetry alike. Together we will explore the importance of literary tradition and ask: where do contemporary poets stand within it today?
In this session you will:
• Learn the difference between Slamming and Spoken Word
• Discover why form is essential to a writer’s growth
• Experiment with new approaches to strengthen your craft
• Share your work in a supportive community of fellow poets
