Austin Poly Speed Dating

Back by popular demand! We will be hosting our second Austin area poly speed dating event on Wednesday, October 6th from 8 to 10 PM at the Sterling Event Center (just off I-35, Highway 183 and 290).

Cost for the event is $20/person. You will need to buy tickets ahead of time here on our Eventbrite page. A cash bar will be available at the event.

Your answers will enable us to pair you with others who match the kinds of poly relationship(s) you are looking for, and the gender(s) you are interested in dating.* The more people that register, the better this system will work, so please RSVP as soon as possible if you know you would like to attend.

Note, too, that this is a queer friendly event. However, our ability to pair participants with appropriate matches is entirely dependent on the diversity of people who sign up for the event - so please, help us spread the word to the wider community!

On a related note, past experience has taught us that, given the high percentage of lesbian/bi/pansexual women in the poly community (relative to the percentage of gay/bi/pansexual men), we need to have at least a 3:2 ration of women to men in order for the matching algorithm work. Accordingly, we have limited the number of tickets available for men and will only release more as the number of women participants increases. Please help us achieve an adequately diverse balance of genders and sexualities by inviting your female and/or gay/bi/pan male friends to sign up and participate!

*Due to the logistical limitations of an event of this nature, it was necessary to simplify the the relationship style and gender options presented on the Questionnaire. Please forgive us for the unavoidable lack of specificity and simply provide whatever answer most closely approximates your identity and desires.

While we will be taking reasonable precautions, please note that this is necessarily an at-risk event. You are taking a risk by coming and you are accepting that risk. We encourage everyone to assess their own risk-level (including consideration of those with a higher degree of risk that you may come into contact with outside of this event) and act accordingly - up to and including deciding not to attend.

• While the State of Texas does not allow us to prohibit unvaccinated individuals from attending, we STRONGLY request that you DO NOT attend this event unless you have been vaccinated.
  
• We encourage getting tested for COVID during the week prior to the event (be sure to allow enough time to get results back).
  
• Please do not attend if you have recently tested positive for COVID, been exposed to COVID, or are experiencing COVID symptoms. We will offer refunds up to one-day in advance.
  
• We will take temperatures at the door. If you register a fever after two subsequent readings, you will be issued a refund and asked not to attend.
  
• Given the nature of the event, masks are optional but encouraged, especially if you have any concerns about your own risk-level.
