Austin Neal was born and raised in Southeast Missouri. He started out playing music at six years old, picking up influence from artists such as Don Williams, Jim Croce, Travis Tritt and others. During his teen years he would spend more and more time across the Mississippi River in Memphis, Tennessee where he gained more influence from artists and groups such as the Black Crowes, Eagles, B.B. King and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
