The Symposium "The Essentiality of Laws and its Ideas"Open to students, practitioners and AULR alumni, this year’s symposium will be presented by Dame Sian Elias (1970) and chaired by Max Harris (2010). Dame Sian Elias has had a distinguished and storied career, serving as the 12th Chief Justice of New Zealand from 1999 to 2019. Max is a Rhodes Scholar and PhD student at the University of Oxford, having once clerked for Sian Elias.
