Who is Augustus?"At its core, Augustus is a singer/songwriter band, whether presented in the medium of mahogany strings or driving spirals of fuzz and reverb. Since 2014 founding members Colin Kelly and Jim Herlihy have been burning the candle at both ends; they’ve toured coast to coast multiple times, recorded six studio albums, and licensed music to MTV, E! Channel, and multiple documentaries. With time on their hands, the band entered the studio in February 2021 to begin a feverish recording session. Reflecting on the undercurrent of anxiety widely felt during the early days of the pandemic, Augustus’ 6th record ‘Ragtime World’ adds yet another aspect to the band's diverse and prolific catalog."

Special guests: Boot Gun & local songwriter, Elliott Dobbs
Boot Gun:
This rock-n-roll outfit from Denver, CO has built a unique sound that serves not only as a backdrop for their zany lives but as a soundtrack to the vibrant ever-growing robust city they live in. Hailing from Denver, Dallas, and Fort Lauderdale, the members of the band bring together sounds reminiscent of Heartland Rock, Nitty Gritty Blues, Southern Twang and Driving Alternative Rock. Striving to live only by the motto “shoot first, ask questions later,” Boot Gun’s diverse sound has managed to get them onto alternative rock bills to blues clubs to bluegrass festivals.
Eliott Dobbs:
Music doesn't care about personal boundaries. A good song will break down all your walls, cut deep into your soul, and unearth secrets that you thought were buried too deep. And for some reason, everybody is okay with that. I guess we want songs to push our boundaries. People are drawn to songs that resonate with their own experiences, even if those experiences are uncomfortable. Music dosent stop us from feeling pain, it just allows us to feel pain in a beautiful way.
I write songs because I find songwriting fascinating. By combining words and sounds that literally mean nothing, we can create something that so profoundly impacts our being that it brings us to tears. That ability to create such deep feelings is why I love song writing, and why I play music.
