The Table at St George’s: A Free Farmer’s Marketwith Jake DeNap
With over 1 Million people across the commonwealth of Virginia experiencing food insecurity and hunger countless organizations are working hard to ensure people have access to food. Even so, there is increasing deficits in people’s nutritional security. It is estimated that in the Fredericksburg region alone we fall short 200,000lbs of fresh produce to meet the nutritional needs of our community annually.
The Table at St George’s seeks to alleviate food and nutritional insecurity one crate of local produce at a time by removing barriers to accessing local, farm-fresh produce as well as the nourishing relational connections between shoppers and volunteers!
About our guest: As Director of Mission and Evangelism at St. George's Episcopal Church, Jake oversees the range of programs, commissions, and partnerships that strive for human dignity, justice, and peace through advocacy and service in the city and beyond.
