Join us Tuesday August 1 at 7pm at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in San Jose for our August Executive Speaker Series with Dean of Student Culture, Chris Jarrett. Chris will be speaking on the topic of "The Universal Apostolic Preferences: How the UAPs guide our personal and professional lives in service to God, the Church and each other." ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Chris grew up in San José before moving to Los Angeles where he went to UCLA, earned his M.Ed. and began teaching elementary school in South Los Angeles. After a year of volunteer work in Nicaragua, he moved back to San José and began teaching at a Catholic school. This move helped him better understand the Catholic faith and deepen his relationship with God. He also joined SCU’s Pastoral Ministries program and earned his M.A. in 2020. Currently, Chris serves as the Dean of Student Culture at Cristo Rey San José Jesuit High School where he oversees school culture, discipline and safety. Outside the classroom, Chris enjoys cooking, bicycling, camping, running and spending time with his wife and young children.
ABOUT THE EVENT
At our Executive Speaker Series, attendees have opportunities to network while enjoying complimentary appetizers and drinks prior to the talk. During the presentation, guest speakers share their unique life story as it relates to their professional and spiritual journey. While the specific topic and focus will vary depending on how each speaker tells his or her story, general themes include lessons on navigating different career choices and progression, seeing examples of how to integrate faith into one's daily life, and hearing advice on growing family and personal relationships. Each talk culminates with a Q&A session with our speaker where audience members can ask questions
