We Are Continuous by Harrison David Rivers is a play that explores themes of family, identity, love, and acceptance. The story follows Simon, a Black gay man, as he navigates his relationships with his mother, Ora, and his husband, Abe. It highlights the generational and cultural tensions between Simon and his religious parents, particularly his father. We Are Continuous ultimately examines the enduring bonds of family, the journey toward acceptance, and the complexities of unconditional love.
Simon (SON) – Black gay man who is introspective, witty, passionate, resilient & vulnerable. Age range: mid 30s-early 40's
Ora (MOTHER) – Black woman who is loving, conflicted, strong-willed, protective, "traditional". Age range 50s-60's
Abe (HUSBAND) – White man who is supportive, patient, understanding, humorous and compassionate. Age range: mid 30s-early 40's
All roles receive a stipend of $400.
Performances are Fri Aug 15, 2025 - Sat Sep 6, 2025, Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 PM with one Sunday performance at 3PM.
