Side Stage Lounge is excited to announce auditions for a night of dinner theatre. Side Stage Lounge is producing two one act plays. Performances will be April 25,26,27. There will be one rehearsal a week leading up to performances. Actors will be paid a stipend of $50 per performance. Audition Scenes will be posted 2 weeks before auditions. I would prefer that everyone is at the audition date but arrangements can be made for auditioners with a conflict.AMONG FRIENDS AND CLUTTER by Lindsay Price (3 M, 4 F)
a montage of characters who experience the most important relationships in life: friends, family, and love. Starting with seven classmates, the play explores what they imagine their lives will be, and shows what their lives eventually become. They grow, succeed, and sometimes fail.
GOD OF CARNAGE by Yasmina Reza (2F, 2M)
Winner of the 2009 Tony Award for Best Play, God of Carnage relates an evening in the lives of two couples, residents of a tony Brooklyn neighborhood, who meet to discuss a playground incident. Alan and Annette’s son hit Michael and Veronica’s son in the face with a stick, resulting in two broken teeth. The four of them agree to discuss the incident civilly, but, as the night wears on and drinks are imbibed, the polite veneer breaks down. The couples initially spar against each other, but the men gang up on the women and the spouses switch sides as the fighting continues. Reza’s play suggests that our civilized trappings do a poor job of hiding our venality and bile.
