Auditions for Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 31 and June 1, 2025 at the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts on the campus of Madisonville Community College in Madisonville, Kentucky.Auditions will be divided according to age group. Auditions for anyone age 16 and up will be Saturday, May 31 at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 1 at 2:00 p.m. Call backs, if needed, will be the evening of Sunday, June 1.
THE STORY: One of the most beloved musicals of all time! In Austria, 1938, an exuberant young governess brings music and joy back to a broken family, only to face danger and intrigue as the Nazis gain power.
The performances are July 11-13, 2025 at the Glema Center. Regularly scheduled rehearsals will begin June 2. The casting calls for performers of all vocal ranges.
Those auditioning should prepare a monologue of no more than 60 seconds and memorize one of the songs linked at GlemaCenter.org > Community > Auditions: The Sound of Music. The song auditioned with will not impact which roles for which each person is considered.
