SLEEPING BEAUTY written by Stewart RobertsonJoin us for a KidsFest extravaganza in the retelling of the age-old story that’s SLEEPING BEAUTY directed this year by Michelle Histen.
However, to give it universal appeal and a few twists and turns, and lots of gags and humour along the way with some hilarious odd-ball characters which gives any actor or actress the ability to put their stamp all over their character.
There are the usual fairies of the East, West, South and North – you guess who’s the baddie and they will be joined by a Troll, a gnome Butler, a blundering Chancellor, a forgetful King and an over-bearing Queen.
The only role which is not available is – “Stik” – a magical talking ‘Stick, which, in the wrong hands, can make all sorts of crazy things happen. If you fancy putting a voice to Stik, we are keen to hear from you too.
So, we are going to throw all of these characters into a blender and the result is a delightful family fairy story to charm boys, girls, and families of all ages, who like adventure.
Want to to help us make this fairy tale come true and put smiles on a bunch of kids faces - we would love to have you on board.
Rehearsals will begin in Mid May and performance over the July School Holidays as part of the KidsFest programme July 11th - 20th.
