AUDITIONS - Shakespeare in the Park 'Twelfth Night' (March 2026 season)Directed by Paul Treasure
Twins? Shipwrecks? Love Triangles? Women dressing up as men?
A plot eerily similar to not one, but two teen rom coms?!
It can only be... Shakespeare!
After two and a half years away, Roleystone Theatre is returning to Araluen Botanic Park to present Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Taking our inspiration from the play’s very title, this production will be heavily Christmas themed.
Season: March 2026 season (4 performances in the Park)
Auditions: Sunday November 23, 2025
Three audition sessions available – 11.00am, 1:00pm, & 3:00pm
Each session will last between 60 & 90 minutes

Cast:
Viola – a shipwrecked young woman who disguises herself as a page named Cesario
Sebastian – Viola's twin brother
Duke Orsino – Duke of Illyria
Olivia – a wealthy countess
Malvolio – steward in Olivia's household
Maria – Olivia's gentlewoman
Sir Toby Belch – Olivia's uncle
Sir Andrew Aguecheek – a friend of Sir Toby
Feste – Olivia's servant, a jester
Fabian – a servant in Olivia's household
Antonio – a sea captain and friend to Sebastian
Valentine and Curio – gentlemen attending on the Duke
A Sea Captain – a friend to Viola
There may be some doubling, and some cross-gender casting.
Some minor characters may not yet survive the final edit.
Prepare: Auditionees are asked to prepare a Shakespearean (or similar period) monologue.
You are not required to have it fully memorized, just be familiar enough to perform it convincingly, we are looking at how well you can speak Shakespearean lines, not how quickly you can memorise them!
It is advisable to wear comfortable clothes that you can easily move about in.
NOTE FOR ALL SHOWS:
*All roles are unpaid.
*Successful auditionees will be required to become members of Roleystone Theatre. Membership for single adults is currently $25 (Junior and Family also available).
*Cast must attend all rehearsals that they are called for. Missing several rehearsals may result in your role being recast.
