Music & More Children’s Theater holds auditions for their Young Singer/Actor’s II performance class production of “Seussical Jr.” on Wednesday January 7th and Wednesday, January 14th from 3:30 - 5:00 pm. Students will be asked to sing in a small group and read scenes from the script. Students interested in lead roles are encouraged to prepare an audition song. The Young Singer Actor II class meets each week on Wednesday from 3:30 - 5:00 pm with some additional Saturday rehearsals. Class fee is $85/mo and $100 Show Fee. Seussical JR is a family friendly, 60-minute musical with terrific songs and a witty script that takes us into the world of Dr. Seuss. One of the most frequently performed shows by children’s theater today, everyone who has participated in the show from elementary school to high school says it was a blast! Join us in revisiting beloved characters including Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie, and JoJo. The Cat in the Hat guides us into The Jungle of Nool where we see Horton, the kind-hearted elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing Whoville. He meets JoJo, a Who child reprimanded for thinking too many “thinks.” Horton decides he must protect the speck of dust on a nearby clover, while at the same time protecting an abandoned egg left to his care by the lazy Mayzie LaBird. Horton tries to convince the other animals in The Jungle of the existence of the Whos, but he is ridiculed and put on trial for insanity. Only his loyal neighbor, the shy bird Gertrude McFuzz, never loses faith in him. Seussical JR weaves a story of friendship, loyalty, and love. Despite all odds, Horton and Gertrude band together to save the Whos, free Horton, and restore peace and unity to the Jungle of Nool. Seussical JR teaches us the power of being unique, the strength of friendship and the importance of fighting for your beliefs.

Baby Kangaroo - Sour Kangaroos baby.
Mr. Mayor - values upright behavior & disappointed in his son.
Mrs. Mayor - has the same beliefs and values as her husband.
Wickersham Brothers - a trio of mischievous monkeys.
Bird Girls - Narrators and Mayzie’s entourage.
Vlad Vladikoff - A dramatic black bottomed eagle.
Judge Yertle the Turtle - judge presiding over the insanity trial.
Grinch - Featured reenacting his Christmas story for the Whos.
Ensemble - play various roles including: creatures in the Jungle of Nool, Fish in JoJo’s fantasy, residents of Whoville, hunters who take Horton and his nest, Circus animals.
