Pioneer Valley Cappella, an auditioned chamber chorus conducted by Geoffrey Hudson and based in Northampton, seeks experienced singers in all voice parts to join us for our fall 2025 concert season. Rehearsals take place on Thursdays from 7:30 to 9:30 PM at the Northampton Community Music Center, 139 South Street. Interested singers are welcome to join us for a sample rehearsal and audition on September 11. Concerts are at 7:30 PM on Friday, November 21; and Saturday, November 22.The major work for the concert will be Emanuel Astorga's Stabat mater, a neglected early 18th century composer. We'd perform it with string quartet. Also on the program is a gorgeous a cappella piece by a contemporary Estonian composer, Pärt Uusberg; and Geoff Hudson's arrangements of three Gershwin tunes - "They Can't Take That Away from Me," "Love Is Here to Stay," and "They All Laughed" - also featuring strings.
