Doors will open at 6:30 PM for sign-ins; auditions will begin at 7 PM.This play comprises a hilarious, poignant, and heart-string tugging set of monologues and ensemble pieces about women’s connections with their clothing. It covers all the important subjects - mothers, prom dresses, mothers, buying bras, mothers, hating purses, and why women only wear black. This play will be presented as readers’ theatre; memorization is not required.
Auditions are open to women ages 25+. This is a show about women from different backgrounds, races, cultures, and classes. It has roles for five women and one understudy who also will have a non-speaking, on-stage role. Four of the five women will portray multiple characters; one will portray a recurring character. The roles are:
GINGY (60+): Gingy serves as the through-line of the play. Her monologues take us back to her childhood, through her teen years, marriage, and being a grandmother.
WOMAN 2 (50+) Multiple roles
WOMAN 3 (40+) Multiple roles
WOMAN 4 (30+) Multiple roles
WOMAN 5 (25+) Multiple roles
WOMAN 6 (25+) Understudy and on-stage responsibilities

Performances will be one weekend only: April 4, 5 and 6 (matinee); actors must be available for all performances.
**Audition requirements: Each auditionee is asked to choose half a page from two of the monologues from this play to present at auditions. Do NOT memorize your monologues; you will use the script on stage. The director is interested in seeing how well you can portray two different, distinct characters. Auditions will also include additional cold readings from the script.
Scripts will be available for a three-day checkout at Prosser branch of Mid-Columbia Library by mid-January.
