Sibling rivalry, adultery, and dungeons – The Lion in Winter, by James Goldman is a modern-day classic brimming with wit and political warfare. Comedic in tone, dramatic in action – the play tells the aging King Henry II and his imprisoned queen, Eleanor of Aquitaine, as they spar over which of their three sons will inherit the throne.
Auditions will consist of cold reads from the script to gauge character interactions.
