Instant Musical is where improvisation and musical theater intersect in a strangely hilarious and incredibly fun one-night only event! Join a group of talented and supportive performers as we learn the structure of creating a completely new musical on the spot in front of an audience. Instant Musical will meet weekly throughout the Winter and early spring, with at least one weekend of performances TBD in the late spring or early summer.
Director Kate Carson-Groner is an alum of the music improv groups Baby Wants Candy, Infinite Sundaes, The Deltones, Riff! and Storytown Improv, as well as non-musical groups Eleanor, Berserker, & June Boy (iO Harold Teams) She graduated from the Second City Improv Conservatory and Music Improv Program, and from iO's improv program.
Music Director Trevor Gabriel is an accomplished professional multi-instrumentalist, singer, music teacher, and composer, and has improvised for numerous spoken word and poetry events. He runs AIM Enrichment Studios which brings affordable music lessons and music mentorship to students of all ages and skill levels in downtown Winston-Salem.
