Theatre Denton is holding auditions for Grease, Book, Music, and Lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. Directed by Kristen Ray Deal and Leslie Deal, auditions will be held July 8, 9, 2024 at 7:00pm at the Theatre Denton Annex located inside Golden Triangle Mall (near Dillards) 2201 S I-35, Denton.Auditions will consist of music and dance. Please prepare 16-32 bars of a 1950’s style song (a song from the show is acceptable) and either clearly marked sheet music for a pianist or a device that connects to a bluetooth speaker. Ages 16 and above only will be considered and anyone under 18 will need parental permission. Call backs will take place July 10 and consist of specific dance, singing and cold readings.
Resumes and headshots are appreciated, but not required. Auditions are open – no appointment needed. Rehearsals will be primarily M-F, 7pm-10pm. If you would like to be considered for a technical or stage crew position, please come to auditions and visit with the show's producers.
About the show:
Set in the late 1950’s, this high energy musical tells the story of two high-school students, Sandy and Danny that come from different worlds, but are drawn to each other. Along for the ride are Danny’s greaser gang friends, The T-Birds, and their auxiliary members, The Pink Ladies. Adult themes.
