GRAND HOTEL, The Musical is set in the 1920s, weaving together the lives of a diverse group of characters in a luxurious Berlin hotel. With its rich score and stunning choreography, the show brings to life a tapestry of stories filled with ambition, romance, and the pursuit of dreams amidst the backdrop of a changing world.
AUDITION INFORMATION
1. All people auditioning will be asked to fill out an audition information sheet. If possible, print the form out in advance, complete it, and bring it with you to the audition. If you are unable to complete the form in advance, please arrive 30 minutes before the start of the audition to complete your form.

3. If you have a resume and/or headshot, bring them to the audition. (not required)
4. Prepare a 32-bar song in the style of the show. Bring sheet music. An accompanist that will play your selection for you. No tracks will be allowed.
5. Wear comfortable clothing for the dance audition and character, jazz, or tennis shoes.
6. You will sing first and then perform a short dance audition. Be prepared to stay until 10PM if asked.
7. You must be available for EVERY performance to be cast in this show. Be sure to list all conflicts on your audition form.

Characters: (ages are flexible)
The Doctor (40s-70s) Wounded by gas and shrapnel in WW1; a cynical, ruined man.
Erik (20-35) The assistant concierge. Intelligent, ambitious, and devoted to his pregnant wife. Vocal range top: F5, Vocal range bottom: C4
Zinnowitz (30s-60) An attorney in Berlin. Ambitious, greedy, and willing to do whatever it takes. Vocal range top: E5, Vocal range bottom: D4
Hermann Preysing (30-70) General Director of a large textile mill. A solid man blinded by riches and terrified of losing his lifestyle. He uses lies and money to get what he wants. Vocal range top: G5, Vocal range bottom: B3
Flaemmchen (18-28) A pretty girl who wants to move to America and star in the movies. Constantly conflicted between her ambition and her morals. Strong dancer and belter. Vocal range top: E5, Vocal range bottom: E2
Otto Kringelein (30-75) A mortally ill bookkeeper from a small town looking for new excitement. Wanting to live life to the fullest while there's still time, he is humble, joyous, and grateful. Vocal range top: A5, Vocal range bottom: C4
Baron Felix Von Gaigern (20s-40s) Optimistic, charming, and broke. He loves life in the fast lane and falls in love with Grushinskaya. Vocal range top: A5, Vocal range bottom: B3
Raffaela (3o-60) Confidante, secretary, and Elizaveta’s dresser. Secretly loves Elizaveta and always wants to protect her. Vocal range top: B4, Vocal range bottom: F3
Elizaveta Grushinskaya (35-60s) The still-beautiful, world-famous Prima Ballerina on the verge of retirement. Finds herself feeling old until she is revived by the young Baron’s love. Must be graceful and be able to speak or learn to speak with a French accent. Vocal range top: C5, Vocal range bottom: G3
The Countess & The Gigolo (18 and up) Ballroom dancers who dance throughout the show. Non-Singing strong dancers/specialty performers
Jimmys (18-30s) 2 bartenders in the Grand Hotel. Comic roles must be able to sing harmony.
Rohna (20s-60s) Hotel general manager- non-singing role.
Chauffeur (20s-60s) A tough gangster posing as a chauffeur-non-singing role.
Witt (20s-60s) Company manager of Grushinskaya’s ballet troupe non-singing role.
Ensemble: Doorman, Bellboys, Telephone Operators, Scullery Workers, Dancers
Everyone over 18 years of age is welcome to audition! Suggested for mature audiences only due to strong language, simulated drug use, and mature themes.
