Stuck in the desert of a happily ever after that is nothing like they dreamed, Bessie, a chronic do-gooder, and Albert Johnson, a wishful Quixote, try anything to prop up the facade of their marriage. But when Bessie brings home a less-than-acceptable house guest, their lost dreams begin to consume their fragile reality. This surrealist play tells the fictionalized true story of Scotty’s Castle and the couple from 1910s Chicago who built a mansion for a con man in the middle of Death Valley, CA.

What To Expect: This show includes some mature themes. At the audition, you’ll be asked to read from the script; sides will be provided. Dialects are not required. In-person auditions are strongly encouraged.
If you need to submit a video audition, please prepare a 1 to 2 minute monologue that shows both dramatic and comedic range, or two short contrasting pieces. Video submissions are due by 5:00 PM on Sunday, February 15. Please submit to [email protected].
