Carmel Community Players is proud to announce auditions for THE SPITFIRE GRILL. A troubled young parolee yearning for a fresh start follows her dreams to Wisconsin, only to find a small town with a gritty heart aching with longing and regret. While working at the Spitfire Grill, Percy reawakens the entire town’s capacity for rebirth, forgiveness and hope. Set to a melodic folk-inspired score, with music by James Valcq and lyrics by Fred Alley, this musical is a celebration of human kindness and the healing power of community.

WHAT TO PREPARE:
*You are encouraged to bring your completed audition form. You may bring a headshot and resume if you have one – otherwise, please include prior performance experience on your audition form.
Both audition days are for all roles in the production. You may attend one or both audition days. Please come to the audition prepared with a verse and a chorus from a musical other than THE SPITFIRE GRILL. An accompanist will be provided; please bring sheet music in the correct key. Auditioners should be prepared to read from the script and may be asked to sing from the show. Callbacks may be necessary, and are tentatively set for Wednesday, December 3 at 7:00pm.
Rehearsals will begin mid-December and will be in the evening during the week, with some rehearsals on Saturdays and Sundays. We typically do not rehearse on Friday evenings, but some may be necessary depending on cast schedules and conflicts. Tech Weekend/Week rehearsals (02/21 – 02/26) are mandatory.
