Auditions for our spring play, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, will be held Monday and Tuesday, March 3 & 4, at 7:00 PM at KCT. Choose one of those days to audition and please arrive by 7:00 PM. No preparation is necessary. You will be asked to read from the script with others auditioning. There are nine roles available, from ages 18-65.KCT does not precast, nor discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity. THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST follows Jack Worthing, who lives in the country and likes to escape to the city, and Algernon Moncrieff, who lives in the city and likes to escape to the country. Jack has fallen desperately in love with Algernon’s beautiful cousin, Gwendolen. Algernon falls in love with Jack’s ward, Cecily. The only problem? Both women think their prospective lover is named “Earnest.” The Importance of Being Earnest has delightful characters and clever wordplay, with many of Wilde’s wittiest lines, that stands the test of time: “A Trivial Comedy for Serious People.
Suitable for older youth and adults.
