4th Wall is excited to announce auditions for our Halloween one act special, "Silent Muse", a play about the character of Lenore from Edgar Allen Poe's works, written by Breanna Helms. There will be 4 nights of performances. This one act follows Lenore and her tragic tale.Saturday October 25th - 5:30
Sunday October 26th - 6:00
Thursday October 30th - 6:00
Friday October 31st - 7:00
Here is a breakdown of the cast:
Edgar (m): 18-25. He is a fantasized version of Edgar Allen Poe without too much research of who he truly was. Edgar is a cunning charming young man who indulges in more fun than work. A bit stubborn and would rather jest than be serious. A bit of a player at first as he falls in love with two girls who are sisters. Lenore’s Love interest.
Lenore (f): 18-25. An eerie yet beautiful young lady. She enjoys the arts but restrains herself from it due to the conditioning of her upbringing, causing her to go along with her mother’s plans of getting married and starting a family. She’s a stubborn, hard headed, and informal girl in reality but around the more important or people she’s less comfortable with she is proper and quiet. She has quite gothic takes on the world as well. Love interest of Edgar. Sister to Annabel.
Annabel (f): 18-25. A charming and gorgeous young lady. She is playful and rather crude in some formats and doesn’t mind to show it. Once she is older she calms herself a bit due to the fact that she is also forced to marry and have children. She has a childish love for Edgar and an endearing love for her sister. Enjoys the arts but doesn’t get its full meaning. At the start she is a love interest to Edgar and a bit of a flirt with him throughout the show but it’s all for fun. Sister to Lenore.
Mother (f): 30-60. A refined older woman. She is witty and charming just like her daughters, Lenore and Annabel, but due to the way she was brought up she teaches her daughters their place in society of having to be wed and have children. She loved her daughters dearly and is not quite the antagonist of the show however she does indulge in the issues surrounding Lenore and Edgar. Shown to be a bit oblivious to her daughters’ wants and desires but truly it’s because she knows it doesn’t matter what a girl wants.
Guy (m): 18-30. A rich young man who has a strong upper hand in the hierarchy of society. The play does not reveal much about Guy on purpose except that he is the fiancé of Lenore. He is seemingly charming but there is a more sinister vibe to his character as if he is hiding something from everyone. It is never revealed what happened to Lenore and him before she died or how she died but his character and personality insinuates that he had something evil to do with it.
