Auditioning for a play: Please be prepared to do a short, memorized monologue. Head shots and resume’ are not required, but appreciated if you have them. We may also ask you to do a cold reading from the script.
Auditioning for a musical: Please be prepared to do a short, memorized monologue and 16 to 32 bars of contemporary musical theatre song. Also, please bring sheet music or accompaniment without vocal tracks. Head shots and resume’ are not required, but appreciated if you have them. JAKE SEBASTIAN: (Leading Role) A man in his fifties. He is the Fisk High School football coach and athletic director.
LYNN SEBASTIAN: (Leading Role) Jake Sebastian’s wife. She is in her forties.
WAYNE TAYLOR: (Supporting Role) Man in his forties or fifties. Fisk High School superintendent.
VIRGINIA KOLL: (Supporting Role) Woman in her forties who is a friend of Lynn Sebastian.
MILAN TOTH: (Supporting Role) Man in his thirties. He is the Shannopin Academy football coach.
GINA BERNARDI: (Supporting Role) Woman in her forties. Fisk school board member.
DR. SHANISE BRADLEY: (Supporting Role) A woman in her mid-thirties. She is an African American physician.
BILL STOKES: (Supporting Role) Man in his forties or fifties. He is a Fisk assistant football coach.
MILLIE MAGYAR: (Supporting Role) A woman in her thirties or forties. He is a sports commentator on radio.

FANNIE SELLINS: (Lead Role) Middle-aged grandmother, who is a leading union organizer.
DOROTHY BROAD: (Supporting Role) Fannie Selin’s daughter. In her early twenties
TOM DUNN: (Supporting Role) Man with a large, mustache, tough looking; in his late twenties. Top guy under the owner of the Allegheny Coal Company.
JAMES OATES: (Supporting Role) Man who is a Union organizer in late fifties.
JOE STRYSZINKI: (Supporting Role) Man with an obvious cough and leg problems. He looks about sixty.
CHARLES SELLINS: (Supporting Role) Fannies husband. Man with hair parted down the middle, always has a smile on his face. (Also does the voice of guard and black leader)
JOHN SELLINS: (Supporting Role that plays two characters) Fannie’s son. Young man in his twenties in military uniform. (Also plays the role of MICHAEL OSTROWSKI: Young man in ratty looking clothes who betrays Fannie.)
REVEREND BURNS: (Supporting Role) Man in his fifties with glasses and hair slicked down and parted in the middle.
MAYOR GUTTERIDGE: (Supporting Role) Man in his fifties who wears a vest and a watch chain.
SAM KELLOGG: (Supporting Role) Man in his thirties who is the hit man for the coal operators based in Pittsburgh. Dark hair and cigar smoking.
KATY MIHALSKI: (Supporting Role) Woman in her middle twenties.
MR. MCGREGOR: (Supporting Role) Middle aged man; narrow, always in a suit.
Rent (musical)

RENT is theatre at its best -- exuberant, passionate, and joyous. RENT is about falling in love, finding your voice and living for today under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.
We expect a cast of approximately fifteen people. RENT is a singer's and actor's show. The dance requirements are light. RENT is an ensemble show with standout moments for every member of the cast.
ANGEL DUMOTT SCHUNARD: Male, Principal

The eccentric HIV-positive street drummer. A drag queen with an incredible gift of dance and a magnetic personality. He becomes Tom's lover. Male - Range:

The landlord of Mark and Roger's apartment building. A former roommate in the loft, Benny traded in his personal morals for power and wealth.
JOANNE JEFFERSON: Female, Principal

A public interest lawyer and headstrong lesbian. She is smart and purposeful in all her decisions. Carries on a tumultuous relationship with Maureen.
MARK COHEN: Male, Principal
A2 - G4
Filmmaker and video artist. Knee deep in his own soul-searching, Mark is the typical young artist. He and Roger are roommates in the loft. A bit of a nerd
MAUREEN JOHNSON: Female, Principal
C4 - F5
An unpredictably zany performance artist. Maureen oozes sexuality and used to live in the loft. She has recently dumped Mark for Joanne.
MIMI MARQUEZ: Female, Principal
Eb3 - E5
An HIV-positive stripper with drug addictions. Slender and sickly, she conceals it all at her job in the local strip club. She lives in the same building as the loft.
ROGER DAVIS: Male, Principal
F2 - A4
A struggling musician and former drug addict. He is reminiscent of Kurt Cobain. Roommates with Mark in the loft and battles with being HIV-positive.
TOM COLLINS: Male, Principal
F#2 - A4
A computer genius and liberal professor. He is a nurturer with a smooth and relaxed disposition. Used to be a roommate in the loft and is HIV-positive.

You do not need to have prior acting experience to audition. Bringing a head shot is optional. If you can, please bring any memorized monologue to the audition, we would love to see it. The audition will also include a cold reading from the script. If auditioning for our musical, please be prepared to sing.
