Join Street Lamp Performing Arts Academy for our Spring Production Hadestown Teen Edition. This is in our teen pre professional audition based program for ages 14-19. Director Caityln Shaffstall, Musical Director LaShelle Bray, and Choreographer Stephanie Peterson.Auditions will be May 5th and call backs May 6th if needed. Rehearsal schedule posted below. Rehearsals will start May 10th and will vary(please see schedule below). Prepare 32 bars of music in American folk, jazz opera influence style for auditions and we will provide cold reads at auditions. You may sing from the show if you can guess what it is. We will also accept video auditions if you can not make the physical auditions. If you send a video, send your contact information, parent email, and all conflicts as well. This is a huge show and we will not take additional conflicts after the show is cast, please be honest. Video auditions need to be sent to [email protected] by May 5, 2025 8pm for consideration.
If you are cast in the show tuition is $220.00 which includes a show tee-shirt.

We are incredibly excited to have this show come to the black box! This intriguing and beautiful folk opera delivers a deeply resonant and defiantly hopeful theatrical experience. Following two intertwining love stories – that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of immortal King Hades and lady Persephone – Hadestown invites audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. Inspired by traditions of classic American folk music and vintage New Orleans jazz, Mitchell’s beguiling sung-through musical pits industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love.
