Revival at Possum Kingdom Community Church
by Linda LaRocque
Set on a sweltering July day in 1950 Texas, Revival at Possum Kingdom Community Church is a warm, funny, and deeply human comedy about faith, grace, and unexpected redemption.
When two down-on-their-luck drifters find themselves stranded in the fading town of Possum Kingdom, they stumble into a canceled church revival that just might be their ticket out. What begins as a harmless scheme slowly transforms into something far more meaningful as a handful of devoted church members gather for a revival that is small in number but mighty in spirit.
Through humor, heartfelt storytelling, and rich Southern characters, the play explores forgiveness, second chances, and the quiet miracles that happen when people truly listen to one another. Revival reminds us that faith can appear in the most unlikely places—and that sometimes redemption finds us when we aren’t even looking for it.
