Announcing auditions for Stained Glass Playhouse's production of "Driving Miss Daisy"!Written by Alfred Uhry

Monday and Tuesday, February 23 & 24, 2026
7-9 pm each night
PERFORMANCE DATES:
May 1-3, 8-10, & 15-17, 2026
Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm, Sundays at 3 pm

WHAT TO BRING/PREPARE:
Those auditioning will need to complete an audition form, including a list of any conflicts from February 25 through May 17.
Nothing else needs to be prepared in advance (monologues, songs, etc.). The auditions will consist of readings of segments of the script ("sides") prepared by the director.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
Having recently demolished another car, Daisy Werthan, a rich, sharp-tongued Jewish widow, is informed by her son, Boolie, that she must rely on the services of a chauffeur. The person he hires for the job is a thoughtful, unemployed black man, Hoke, whom Miss Daisy immediately regards with disdain and who, in turn, is not impressed with his employer’s patronizing tone and latent prejudice. Despite their mutual differences, the two grow ever closer. Soon, they come to realize they have more in common than they ever believed possible.
