💖 Show Synopsis: ALMOST, MAINE, a place that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States. It’s almost in Canada. And it’s not quite a town, because its residents never got around to getting organized. So, it almost doesn’t exist. One cold, clear, winter night, as the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost, Maine, find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.
ALMOST, MAINE consists of 9 separate stories/ scenes. While the play is often performed with only four actors portraying multiple roles, the director has chosen to cast a larger group. Selected actors may appear in a single story or in multiple scenes, with final decisions regarding multiple roles determined after auditions.
The director is seeking actors with stage ages ranging from 20s to 60s, up to six men and six women. Two male actors must be able to perform repeated floor falls. Actual couples are encouraged to audition.
ROLES TO BE CAST: All roles are open. All ages are stage ages. All body types, gender identities, sexual orientations, and abilities will be considered.
