Synopsis:
Cecily Harrington has led a staid and proper existence. After winning a large amount of money in a sweepstakes she desperately yearns for a life of adventure. Enter Bruce Lovell, a handsome and charming stranger who sweeps her off her feet. In a whirlwind romance, she recklessly abandons her job, friends and fiancé to settle in the remote and blissful surroundings of a country cottage. But things are not what they seem.
Audition Information:
• Auditions will take place at the theatre on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 2:00 pm
• Please bring a list of conflicts from 10/26/24 – 1/26/25 to allow a rehearsal schedule to be created based on availability of those being cast
• The show will run from January 10, 2025 – January 26, 2025
• Auditions will consist of cold readings from scenes from the script
Characters:
AUNTIE LOO-LOO 40 to 60 years old, female presenting. A professional fusser English Accent
MAVIS WILSON 25 to 35 years old, female presenting. An attractive woman, a firm manner. English Accent
CECILY HARRINGTON 25 to 35 years old, female presenting. Attractive, has just come into money, a bit shy English Accent
BRUCE LOVELL 35 to 50 years old, male presenting. Handsome, charming, self-confident. English but a bit of an American accent (NOTE – actor cast in this role must be blond, or willing to color hair blond, to meet the needs of the character and plot).
NIGEL LAWRENCE 30 to 40 years old, male presenting. A neat military man, Cecily's fiancé. English accent
HODGSON 60 to 75 years old, male presenting. Elderly grounds caretaker. Wise, a bit of a Cockney accent.
ETHEL 25 to 35 years old, female presenting. Pretty but not too bright, Hodgson's niece, (a cockney accent)
DR. GRIBBLE 60 to 70 years old, male presenting. an intense but sweet manner. English accent
