This workshop is designed to help actors of all experience levels sharpen their skills in a fun, accessible, and supportive environment. You’ll learn practical tools and strategies to make your auditions stronger, whether you’re preparing monologues, cold readings, or musical auditions.

Diane Hill returns to Theatre NOVA after a three-year hiatus, during which she helped to create and was Associate Producer for a new nonprofit, professional theatre in Walled Lake called The Inspired Acting Company. Prior to her initial five years at Theatre NOVA, Diane also founded Two Muses Theatre, a nonprofit, professional theatre in West Bloomfield, where she served as Artistic/Executive Director for five years, where she did the work of technical director, publicist, sound designer, webmaster, and graphic designer for every production. Diane was a professor at University of Detroit Mercy and Oakland Community College, where she originated and designed the Theatre degree program. She has a Ph.D. in Theatre from Wayne State University and a Bachelor of Music and Master of Arts in Theatre from the University of Michigan. She previously taught high school drama and music in the public school system (Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor) for 20 years. Also an actor around the state, Diane was awarded a Wilde Award for Best Actress in Theatre NOVA’s production of The How and the Why, a Wilde Award for Best Actress playing Vivian Bearing in Wit, a Rogue Critic's Award for her work as Mama in 'night, Mother (both with Breathe Art Theatre Project), and an Ann Arbor News Award for her work as Agnes in I Do! I Do! at Kerrytown Concert House. Diane has also performed leading roles in several feature-length and short films, industrial films, and television and radio commercials. ​​​​​​​​​
