Dragonfly Youth Theatre (DYT) is delighted to announce that applications for our next production are NOW open!This year our youth theatre will embark on a fantastical journey into the hilarious, yet moving universe of the critically acclaimed author David Walliams. Participants will perform an original stage adaptation of one of his best-selling novels under the guidance and direction of our professional creative team.
Participants will also gain valuable first hand experience in performing on a "real" theatre stage, learning about and using the lighting and sound techniques that turn an acting class into a professional theatrical production.
Auditions will be held on Saturday 27th February 2021 from 9-11am. Applicants will be required to perform both characters from the short scene. All applicants must be between 9-16 years old.
Before registering please check the program details below. All applicants MUST be available to attend ALL rehearsal and performance dates.
★ REHEARSALS: Every Sunday between 28 FEB - 18 APR @ 8.30-10.30am + 02 MAY @ 8.30-10.30am (Total 9 rehearsals)
★ DRESS REHEARSAL: SAT 08 MAY @ 9am-2pm
★ PERFORMANCE: SUN 09 MAY @ 10-5pm
★ COURSE FEE: 8,100,000
Please note some actors will be required to attend additional rehearsals at a mutually convenient time in the run up to the production.
