Script

Setting:
The film takes place in a small park and a cozy living room—locations that are easy to access for no-budget filmmaking.

Opening Scene (Park)
Wide shot of a serene park. Groups of people with mild autism (referred to as "Neuroverse citizens") are calmly enjoying their routines—reading, organizing objects, or quietly chatting about their interests. A small group notices a "Normie" (a neurotypical person) walking toward them.

Dialogue:

  • Neuroverse Citizen 1: (whispering) "Look at the way they walk—so chaotic!"
  • Neuroverse Citizen 2: "And why do they keep making eye contact? It's so invasive."

The Normie approaches with an awkward smile and starts speaking loudly.

  • Normie: "Hey there! Lovely day, huh? Did you catch the game last night?"

The group exchanges confused glances.

  • Neuroverse Citizen 3: "Game? Why would we watch people chasing balls around?"
  • Neuroverse Citizen 1: (to Normie) "Why are you shouting? Are you upset?"

Scene 2 (Living Room)
A Neuroverse family is hosting a Normie for dinner. The Normie tries to engage in small talk while the family focuses on their favorite topic—cataloging rare coins.

Dialogue:

  • Normie: "So, uh, what do you guys do for fun?"
  • Neuroverse Parent: "We organize our collections. It’s relaxing and productive."
  • Normie: (laughs nervously) "No fireworks or loud music?"

The family looks horrified.

  • Neuroverse Child: "Fireworks? Why would anyone enjoy explosions? That’s terrifying!"

Scene 3 (Park Again)
The Normie tries to fit in by mimicking the Neuroverse citizens—avoiding eye contact and speaking softly—but struggles with their norms.

Dialogue:

  • Normie: "I’m trying, but… how do you live without gossip? Or sarcasm?"
  • Neuroverse Citizen 2: "Why waste energy on negativity? We prefer direct communication."

Closing Scene (Park)
The Normie begins to appreciate the calm and logical world of the Neuroverse citizens. They sit quietly together, sharing an interest in cataloging leaves.
