Audition for A Ghostly ChristmasStep into the spirit of the season with A Ghostly Christmas—an original play written by Quincy local Byron Spires and co-directed by Kafui Ablordeppey and Byron Spires. This heartwarming and slightly spooky story will be featured as part of The Leaf Christmas Spectacular on December 19, a brand-new holiday event at the historic Leaf Theatre. This is a non-musical production featuring speaking roles only.
About the Show
Set in the historic Leaf Theatre, A Ghostly Christmas tells the charming and spooky tale of the theatre’s resident spirits on Christmas Eve. Among them is Suzette, a curious young ghost who longs to experience the joy of Christmas for the first time. Her cheerful spirit clashes with Doc, the gruff manager ghost who insists that ghosts should only frighten, not celebrate. As more of the theatre’s ghosts appear—each with their own memories and quirks—they begin to rediscover the warmth and wonder of the holiday season. When a living man named Bill wanders in to perform for an imaginary audience, chaos, laughter, and a few scares ensue. By night’s end, even Doc’s icy heart begins to thaw as the ghosts join together in song, proving that the magic of Christmas can touch every soul—living or dead.
