Combining the elements of direct painting, incorporating negative space painting, wet-into-wet and glazing techniques participants may design their own composition, develop their selected subject using elements of design, value, and hard vs. soft edges to gain the desired effect..
Objectives:
By the end of the course, students will:
Identify 3 compositional styles
Use direct painting, wet-into-wet washes, and negative space
Recognize and use focal points, light/shadow, and edge control
Complete a final watercolor painting with confidence
