About this Event
Welcome to the Atlantic Seed Gathering! Over 2 days this November, our seed community will have the opportunity to re-connect, learn from each other, celebrate our work, and spark new collaborations! The event will include hands-on, small group, and plenary activities to inspire great conversations about seed saving, selecting, and sharing in Atlantic Canada.
If you are a grower interested in saving, sharing, and selling seeds; conservation of biodiversity; and/or in the improvement of plant genetics through plant breeding, this event is for you!
Event highlights:
- Winnow Wizard demonstration and seed cleaning (thanks to Twisted Brook Farm)
- New Exhibit: Stewarding a seed collection: Portraits in Wool (thanks to Heartfelt Seed)
- Tasting of farm-trialed carrot varieties & breeding lines (thanks to Whispering Hill Farm)
- Seed swapping and sharing
- Participant-led discussions on producing, selecting, and marketing ecological seeds.
Full schedule of events coming soon!
