Ex-pat UK selector, Leon “Sir P” Phillpotts, for the past 25 years has flown the flag of the deep roots reggae movement in Philadelphia with numerous soundsystem, live and studio projects. During that time, he built and launched his custom SoundSystem “The Heartical Dub Machine” in 2012. He proudly maintains the
tradition of the UK soundsystems that inspired him as a youth in Birmingham andLondon, taking its namesake from the legendary “House of Roots” sessions at The Arches in South London featuring the mighty Aba Shanti. Sir P’s passion for maintaining the lineage of the culture is felt through his deep meditation melodic
heavy weight basslines, roots and reality lyrics vinyl selections and dub plates. Accompanied by mic chanters and top shelf guest selectors, House of Roots also features international dub artists and producers, bringing a unique slice of international dub and sound system culture to the Northeast and beyond and continues to spread the conscious unity message through roots reggae and
dubwise.
