Join us on Saturday, April 26th from 1-5pm for Athens very first Volunteer Fair in the courtyard between Buvez and Treehouse. We’re inviting local orgs who are doing incredible work around town, representing every issue from food insecurity to environmental justice, childhood literacy to economic inequality, LGBTQIA+ rights and gun safety advocacy to animal rescues, and the list goes on. This event is a way to match your interests with the needs that exist right now, right around us. Volunteering is activism on the community level. It is an action you can take now to help support, protect, and enrich the lives of those directly around you. It is transforming kindness and compassion into real and immediate change. It’s a way to channel the urge to do something, to make a difference, to improve the world one neighborhood at a time. We’ll have ways for folks of any age & ability to volunteer, because everyone should be able to help their way to a better community, and to put their desire for change into tangible action. We hope you’ll join us for an afternoon of hope, of positive transformation, and of being the helper Athens needs.
