ATERCIOPELADOS:
Aterciopelados, the flagship Colombian rock band led by Andrea Echeverri and Héctor Buitrago, has left an indelible mark on Ibero-American music with their unique fusion of Latin rhythms, local sounds, and their unique style of rock.
With over 30 years of experience, 12 albums to their credit, and four Latin Grammys (the most recent in 2024), they have shaped generations with messages of female empowerment and environmental awareness.
In 2024, their "El Dorado Tour" revived the iconic '90s album, performing 63 concerts in the Americas, Europe, and Oceania, connecting with a diverse audience and reaffirming their cultural relevance. This dynamic duo has always remained relevant, critical of the system and committed to leading social and environmental campaigns that reinforce their legacy.
Aterciopelados has topped music charts with unforgettable hits such as "Bolero Falaz," "Florecita Rockera," "Maligno," "El Álbum," "Rompecabezas," "Baracunatana," "El Estuche," "Luz Azul," "Cosita Seria," "Dúo," "Antidiva," and "Meditacielo," among many others. Their ability to break stereotypes and transcend the industry has established them as essential figures in Latin American music.
At the end of 2024, they released "AGRADECIDA," an immersive fusion of waltz and alternative rock highlighted by the evocative arpeggio of the Andean ronroco and devotional songs, featuring the legendary Gustavo Santaolalla. This release was the perfect prelude to "GENES REBELDES," their tenth studio album, which was released in April 2025. This new work is a manifesto of identity, resistance, and hope, in which Aterciopelados fuses cultural roots, personal reflections, and futuristic visions over thirteen songs, reaffirming their position as pioneers and innovators of rock in Spanish.
